On June 10th 2023, the first seminar for families with children with disabilities, titled “Family Adventures”, took place at the Open Door Centre, as part of the Artistic Programme “Learning through Art” for people with and without disabilities.
At the beginning of the day, the participants attended the presentation of the Head of Therapeutic Programmes, Katerina Spyridaki, titled “The importance of play in the child’s life. Why don’t I play?”. Then parents, children and siblings were divided into groups and participated successively in all the “game-stations” that had been set up in various areas of the Open Door Centre:
- Water games
- Motor and sensory games
- Music and dance
- Educational Interactive games
The “Learning through Art” programme aims to remove the barriers that still stand between different people and demonstrates in practice that, through play and art, we can create together a brave new world, which we can all share as equals.
The programme is implemented thanks to the kind support of the J.F. Costopoulos Foundation.
